How are the times calculated?
The times come from the position of the sun at your latitude and longitude: fajr starts when the sun is 18° below the horizon, isha when it is 17° below, and asr when an object's shadow equals its length. The results were tuned against the times the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) publishes for province centres; for all 81 province centres the October 2026 times differ by at most 1 minute. For official times, rely on Diyanet; adhan times can differ by a few minutes between districts and mosques.
Frequently asked questions
How are prayer times calculated?
The position of the sun during the day is calculated from your latitude and longitude. Fajr starts when the sun is 18° below the horizon, isha at 17° below, and asr when an object's shadow equals its length. The calculation runs in your browser.
Is my location sent to the server?
No. If you allow location access, the coordinates are used only on your device to calculate the times; they are not sent to the server or included in statistics events. Your last choice is kept only in your browser's local storage.
Are the times the same as Diyanet's?
The calculation is tuned to match Diyanet's times and differs by at most 1 minute at province centres. Official times are still the ones published by the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs.
What are the iftar and suhoor times?
Iftar is at the maghrib (evening adhan) time, and suhoor runs until fajr (imsak). In Ramadan you can check both in the monthly table.
Can I use it abroad?
Yes. The Use my location button calculates the times anywhere in the world. At very high latitudes the fajr or isha angle may not occur; then an approximate time is given with the one-seventh-of-the-night rule.
